Acoustic Night 4th Nove mber @ YOYO’S Friday 4th November saw a completely new and laid back show hit YOYO’s Youth Centre. The Warringah Youth Advisory Committee (WYAC) hosted the first ever Acoustic Night. Entering into a transformed YOYOs looking more like a chilled out café than a youth centre, punters new they were in for some different. Showcasing their talent were 6 of the Northern Beaches hottest young acoustic acts. All of the acts relished the chance to play to their mates, with each putting on a great show. First up were Henry Coleman and Ella Seabrook on keys and cello. Despite a few nerves they produced a truly amazing set of original music. Reminiscent of Kate Bush and Regina Spektor the duo’s music was powerful, emotional and sweet, entrancing their audience. Next in line was Jess Cowdroy. A strong singer/songwriter, Jess accompanied herself on guitar pulling a relaxed set of breezy tunes, invoking young romance, heartfelt feelings and pulling the audience back to the beach and their favourite summer. The ever trendy Kyle Fisher was up next with an eclectic set of originals and covers. Kyle showed off, impressing his range and versatility alternating between sm ooth lyricism and powerful em otions with a few moments of pop nostalgia. A streamlined acoustic set by two m embers of local band Lower Pluto was next, showcasing the musical talent behind the rock’n’roll. The duo pulled out some of their crowd favourites putting a different twist on them with melodic guitar and duet vocals much to the crowd’s enjoyment. Josh Muncke kept the good times rolling with a powerful set of angst- fuelled songs filled with great lyrics and strong emotions. The crowd were hooked, engrossed in every moment of this outstanding set. And finally Marcus Bridge rounded out the night with a truly potent mix of beautiful, sweet and torn songs, showcasing both his great vocal range and excellent guitar skills. Marcus captivated the audience with his heady lyrics leaving them satisfied at the end of a beautiful and unique musical experience.
