The Rock-itt : December 2011
James Reyne former front man for Australian Crawl and one of Australia’s greatest music legends for over three decades will take the stage at our famous “Old Manly Boatshed” on Friday 2nd December. Reyne rose to the top of the music heap as front man for Australian Crawl, one of Australia’s favourite outfits in the 80s then continued on with a successful solo career after the band disbanded in 1986. James Reyne is a great showman and famous for his magical and charismatic repour with his live show audience. However his talent isn’t confined to performing, he is a phenomenal song writer and has penned som e evergreen compositions which kept Australian Crawl at the top of the music charts throughout the 80s. In the 80s Australian Crawl had a whole swag of mega hits including ‘Reckless’ (which is my favourite Crawl song), ‘Errol’, ‘Boy’s Light Up’ and ‘Down Hearted’ to peel off a few from an extremely impressive repertoire and which eventually became legendary Aussie anthems. James became a household name both on radio and television throughout his entertainment career and even did stage and film acting as well. But its performing in front of a live audience which holds Jam es Reyne’s interest the most and that is why after so long in the business of entertainment we are blessed to be able to watch the man and see how he has evolved down the many roads he has travelled. On Friday 2nd December he will be performing at our own ‘Old Manly Boatshed’. If you haven’t seen the man perform before then this is a perfect opportunity to see an Australian legend up close and personal and hear why James Reyne is classed still as one of Australia’s greatest music entertainers. We will be sending a photographer / reviewer along to the show at The Old Manly Boatshed on that night to get a live look at James Reyne in action and will add it to our music section in our January issue. So if for some unknown reason you can’t get down there we will tell you all about it. But dare I say, seeing a performer live is the only true way to enjoy it to the max. James will be performing at other selected venues as shown below. 2 DECEMBER Old Manly Boatshed 3 DECEMBER Sydney Telstra 500 V8 by Pete Johnson New and preloved goods.
