The Rock-itt : May 2011
Introduction by Pete Johnson On a cool morning last month as the sun began to poke it's head above the curved line of the oceans horizon, Rock-itt photographer, Ian (Snapper) Bird, dragged his body out of bed, slipped into his clothes which he had doffed onto the floor the night before, donned his cap, grabbed his camera with its enormous telescopic lens, slipped the strap over his shoulder and headed out the door of his Dee Why unit to walk the short distance to where the breakers were washing up the sand onto Dee Why Beach. Standing for a moment digesting the scene in front of him, he methodically removed the lens cap from its position and checked the lens settings.
