The Report On the 5th December 2013 Animal Liberation launched the report, “Like a Duck out of Water: An expose of the Australian duck industry” at the Voiceless awards night. The report was launched alongside our new cause-specific website www.aussieducks.com where the report can be downloaded and photos and videos can be watched and shared. If you would like a hardcopy of our report please contact the Animal Liberation office and we will happily send you a copy (or several if there are others you would like to give the report to). Since then, we have had some great achievements: * Our objection to a proposed duck breeding facility at Howes Valley has halted progress of the development *We received a $13,000 Voiceless grant to produce a report to expose the welfare issues in the duck farming industry *Af ter approaching the ACCC about Pepe’s Ducks advertising, Pepe’s Ducks were sued and found guilty of false and deceptive conduct *We did a major expose of the industry on ABC’s ‘7:30’ -specifically shining a spotlight on the issue of water deprivation *Af ter raising our concerns (along with the Barristers Animal Welfare Panel) to the ACCC about Luv-a -Duck’s advertising, Luv-a-Duck were taken to court and found guilty of false and deceptive conduct *Member for Sydney Alex Greenwich voiced his support for our campaign and has committed to assist the campaign. But this year is going to be even bigger... The Grant At the 2013 Voiceless Awards night we received a second grant for the duck campaign. This time we will be using the money to advertise in and around Chinatown and within Chinese newspapers. Thanks again to Voiceless for their generosity.
