The Rock-itt : February 2014
Are meat-eaters really stronger than vegans? There's nothing like a bit of Aussie sportsmanship to settle an old score. Australian author Kathy Divine and Australian actor Martin Dingle-Wall are presenting Dan Schulz, a contributor to the number one best-selling book Plant-powered Men who has volunteered and laid down a challenge to Sam Kekovich: arm wrestle me on national television – vegan vs lamb eater. We have a national television show interested in broadcasting the battle – we just need Sam to take the courage to agree. Plant-powered Men, a book by Australian author Kathy Divine went to number one in men's health on Amazon Australia yesterday, and has been listed as a 'hot new release' on Amazon's website. (See below screenshot). Australian men are increasingly exploring healthier options in a bid to decrease their SAM KEKOVICH CHALLENGED TO AN ARM WRESTLE LAMB Vs BROCCOLI risks of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and bowel cancer, diseases that have been clearly linked to a meat-based diet. It seems that Bowel Cancer Australia is in agreement, illustrated by their endorsement of Meat Free Week (www.meatfreeweek.org). In addition, the vegan diet has been included in the updated Australian Dietary Guidelines and endorsed as being 'healthy and nutritionally adequate'. Plant-powered Men is a collection of interviews from 38 vegan men from around the world. In the interviews they detail the many health and other benefits a plant-powered (vegan) diet has brought them. So will broccoli beat lamb? Or will the meat eaters triumph and prove the vegans wrong. Will Sam be scared of the tofu munchers and decline the challenge? Stay tuned!
