The Rock-itt : January 2014
At 66, an age when most pop stars are flogging dead horses, David Bowie is up for a Barclaycard Mercury prize, an award that prides itself in promoting cutting edge new music. The oldest person ever nominated, none of the other artists on the shortlist had even been born when Bowie scored his first number one, with Space Oddity in 1969. With no life achievement categories, there can be no question that Bowie deserves his place on merit, even if he is unlikely to attend Wednesday’s ceremony in person. Reclusive in his New York base, he has masterminded the greatest comeback in pop history without so much as making a public appearance. The World hasn’t ended, the year has just begun, so come on down to our little piece of Pacific Ocean paradise right on the sand, “The Collaroy Beach Club” and enjoy what we have to offer Ne The Beach Club Collaroy The Club On The Sand Where Our Beaches People Go To Meet! 11:30PM Those absolute masters of Rock/Pop music The Eagles will embark on a tour of Great Britain in 2014. It looks like May next year will be the kick-off with the tour continuing on possibly into 2015 all going well. It was right back in 1971 when things started to happen for the iconic rockers after they released their first album. Speaking to The Telegraph's music critic Neil McCormick earlier this year, guitarist Joe Walsh, 65, admitted, " I played music high for so long, I didn’t know how to do it sober." And 65 year old guitarist Glenn Frey explained the reason for touring again, "The songs represent a time when people did seem to care a little bit more about the world. And people still want to hear them." Hey Glenn & Joe! We want to hear you live again too. Ozz loves The Eagles and their tour shows here would be sellouts! It’s about time Hooray! He’s one of Australia’s number 1 personalities and has earned the reputation as an Australian fast bowler and also a television star.
