The Rock-itt : August 2012
This Month: Everly Brothers and Idols of Rock ‘N’ Roll THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTE TO THE EVERLY BROTHERS & THE IDOLS OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL Starring brothers Warren Jr. and Andrew Williams, this brilliant tribute delivers the magic of The Everly Brothers harmonies, and their classic hits with songs like Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Susie, Walk Right Back, Kathy's Clown, Temptation, 'Til I Kissed Ya, Let It Be Me, Crying In The Rain, and When Will I be Loved to name just a few. The Williams Brothers are both multiple 'MO Award' and 'Ace Award' nominees whose grounding in the industry has come from their family upbringing. Their father Warren Williams was one of the pioneers of Rock 'n' Roll music in Australia and has graced the club circuit for more than 40 years. He has passed on a unique feel for the music to his sons. EVERLYS AND IDOLS is not just another "clone" show, but a show that features beautiful vocal harmony that only brothers can achieve. The show is The Williams Brother's own tribute to their idols and the music that they have been brought up with, therefore recreating the artists naturally. A five piece backing band features the outstanding musicianship of Steven Henderson (Electric & Steel Guitars/Vocals), John Waller (Drums/Vocals), Tim Her big (Bass/Vocals), Todd Frankland (Guitar/Vocals), and Bill Nielson (Keyboards/Vocals). The show takes the audience back to not only the hits of The Everly Brothers, but also THE BEE GEES, THE BEATLES, THE BEACH BOYS, TOM JONES, NEIL DIAMOND, CHUCK BERRY, BUDDY HOLLY, LITTLE RICHARD, ELVIS, JOK, BILL HALEY and many more. There is also a request segment which involves the entire audience Check the full add page opposite for details of The Everly Show and what other great entertainment The Beach Club at Collaroy have in store for you, this month of August. The closest I ever got to the real Everly Brothers was back in the 50s. My sister was playing one of their songs on the Juke Box in a beachside milk bar in Terrigal. I loved the sound, their harmonizing was amazing, and as I grew up, despite the ever changing music scene, The Everly Brothers were always good listening, no matter what the genre Now we can hear them all over again live, with the tribute dinner show which the Beach Club at Collaroy will be presenting in August. This time The Williams brothers will be doing the singing and you can bet your boots the show will be a cracker. You can read all about it in the column on the right and I’ll see you down there.....................Pete.
