Bears kicked off through Joey Walsh and the Bears wasted no time scoring first through Dillon Daley off the left foot. Half time saw the score at Bears 8-6 with Bears playing 2 short. The late arrival of Jake Fulton, Dan O'Hara and Lehi Hopoate, saw a second half blitz with the final score jumping out to 44-14. Man of match: Joey Walsh Well done boys! U8's took on Narraweena at Harbord Park and as usual the turf was wet but the weather was fine. Bears’, Jake Fulton kicked off getting the game underway. The Bears defended well and finally got possession then scored first through Noah. Both teams scored before the half time break Bears 12-6. Jake Fulton scored for the Bears next in the second half and Narraweena managed another converted try which saw this top of the table clash end up another victory for our young Bears with the final score 18-12. The Bears U 9's took on Christian Brothers at Nolan's Reserve and though the turf was a bit damp and the ball greasy, they still managed to notch up a good win. Christian Brothers kicked off and our Bears were right onto it working their way to the Brothers’ line, then began dominating the game. Bears scored first through Teddy Wilson. Three more tries were scored before half time, 2 to the Bears and 1 to Brothers. At the break, Bears 18-6. Roman Hickson scored first in the second half and another try and conversion followed. Brothers managed just one more converted try to see the final score, Bears 30-12 . Man of match: Teddy Wilson. With the weather finally looking good we were able to have our grand final replay against Narrabeen at Beacon Hill Oval. Narrabeen kicked off and it was touch from the start, it took 10 minutes for the score to open with Sean Vaivelata from the Bears crossing over, and Matt Swain converted to make the score 6 nil. The Bears kept the pressure on with another try to the Bears through Freddy Lussick, and Harry Wilson converted to make it 12 nil. Narrabeen came back with a converted try to m ake it 12- 6 at half time. With the Bears kicking off in the second half it was a great chance for Narrabeen to go on the attack, but with great defence from the Bears we were able to keep them scoreless while the Bears laid on 2 more converted tries through Albert Hopoate, Jack Walsh converted and Freddy Lussick crossing for his second and converted. Final score 24 to 6. Great game guys, keep it up!
