The Rock-itt : July 2012
Young Pop icon, Justin Bieber is recovering from concussion after a slight accident. The 18-year old singer walked into a glass wall backstage during his concert in Paris. He managed to complete his set on stage, but passed out briefly in his dressing room afterwards. Doctors checked Justin out and diagnosed concussion, but the young star has assured his legion of fans he is fine. “Just smacked my head and needed some water. All good. I'm Canadian and we’re tough.” .. ... He Tweeted. Fans knew of the accident before his mother did. Marine Le Pen is hopping mad about Madonna labelling her a Nazi during the MDNA tour. In Tel Aviv, the face of Marine appeared on television with a swastika over her forehead. Marine was extremely upset by the incident as she is the daughter of well known racist/anti-Semite/Holocaust- denying Jean-Marie Le Pen, who took control of the National Front and vowed to reform the far-right political party from its notorious reputation. However, she still wants to limit Muslim immigration and has been said to support the weakening of Islamic culture in France. Somehow I don’t think Madonna will be receiving a Christmas card from Marine this year, do you? If we didn’t know already, ‘The Beatles’ have been named the best-selling singles act of all time in the UK. The Beatles beat Elvis Presley and Sir Cliff Richard to the number one placing, while Madonna and Michael Jackson completed the top five. The specially commissioned Top 60 of the past 60 years from the Official Charts Company was broadcast by Tony Blackburn on BBC Radio 2 on 4 th June. Rihanna was the most recent artist to make the top ten. Elton John, Queen, ABBA and David Bowie completed the top ten, while ‘Take That’ as a collective are higher than Robbie Williams at 15 and 22 respectively. Lower down the chart, Britney Spears, Lady GaGa and Black Eyed Peas feature at 26, 28 and 32 in the total list of 60. BBC Radio 2′s Head of Music, Jeff Smith said: “This list is intriguing; Adele is missing and we’ve all forgotten just how huge artists such as Shakin’ Stevens, Boney M and UB40 were in the UK in the ’70s and ’80s.” The Top 10 biggest selling singles acts of all time in the UK are: 01THE BEATLES 21.9m 02 ELVIS PRESLEY 21.6m 03 CLIFF RICHARD 21.5m 04 MADONNA 17.6m 05 MICHAEL JACKSON 15.3m 06 ELTON JOHN 14.8m 07 QUEEN 12.6m 08 ABBA 11.2m 09 DAVID BOWIE 10.6m 10 RIHANNA 10.4m Justin Bieber concussed Stevie Wonder on the list The Queen hosted the cream of pop last month at an evening concert just in front of her London residence as part of big celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee, marking her 60th year as monarch.
