The Rock-itt : January 2012
Blues Rock outfit, Chase The Sun are hitting the Old Manly Boatshed this month and after a break away from one of the beaches most charismatic music and comedy venues, they are ready to rip it up. The trio comprising of Jan Rynsaardt (guitar, vocals), Ryan Van Gennip (bass) and Jon Howell (drums) are happy to be back and ready to give the punters at the shed something to remember. The trio first met in 2006 at an acoustic jam session in Sydney’s western suburbs and straight away the penny dropped that they had the same vibes in common and should get it together. Almost hard to believe, but within days of meeting, the trio hired a session in a recording studio in the Blue Mountains and straight away went about the business of putting down an album which proved to be an instant success. Now the boys were hot to trot and the creative chemistry flowed as they gradually blended their individual skills into one intense fireball and Chase The Sun were on their way. They went on to win the Australian Blues award in 2007 for “Best Group” and have kept the momentum going by being heralded as the trio to see and hear play live. Their relentless passion to tour is creating widespread fan bases both nationally and abroad which give them ideal crowd support wherever they play a gig. Along with their live show successes their recordings are blossoming into great achievements. They managed to score a hit with “You Gotta Go”, picking up a Blues Award for “Best Song”. Now the boys are back on the beaches so don’t blow an opportunity to see something special. These guys with their finger on the pulse of rootsy Blues music, are here to entertain and will send you home feeling good that you got off your tush and got down to the Old Manly Boat Shed on January to witness them live.
