Hang onto your hats everybody because the official summer and silly season of fun, good times, mirth and merriment have arrived and the Bayfield family are flinging open their doors at the hub of Northern Beaches entertainment “The Newport Arms” with intentions of making this special time of the year one of laughter, togetherness and happiness. So rock-on up! The party’s about to begin......hip, hip hooray Santa’s on his way! The East Coast girl final is first up on Saturday 3rd December with the finalists from the 4 heats held in Novem ber ready to take the catwalk to be judged. This bevy of lovely Aussie girls is absolutely gorgeous, but only one can win first prize and who will that lucky young lady be? Christmas Eve Beer Garden Party Next on ‘The Arms’ agenda is the ever popular annual Christmas Eve Reunion Beer Garden Party, which will be bigger than ever this year. For the last twenty years from all over the Beaches as well as further afield ‘The Arms’ faithful have made the pilgrimage to that magnificent beer garden in Newport which sits looking over the beautiful waterways of Pittwater for that special occasion where they unite with old friends and relatives to celebrate this wonderful time of the year which brings us all just that bit closer together. Christmas Eve at ‘The Arms’ has become an institution and the ideal place to catch up and put the cares and worries of the world behind us after a hectic twelve months of hard work and city living. The aura that this special yearly event creates is one of peace, good times and happiness which bring with it the spirit of Christmas. Events’ organizer, Cameron Bayfield, encourages everyone to get in early to avoid queuing-up. From sunset there will be an easy mix of smooth sounds and party anthems played across the beer garden with the central focus on the moonlit dance floor where you will sway the night away with that special one that means so much in your arms. The Bayfield family will open their gates for their patrons at lunchtime and there will be extra ‘Can Bars’ to accommodate the large crowd expected. Extra transport has been arranged with the STA to help you get home after the event. Highlights Include; A super Christmas party for free, in the best Beer Garden on the planet with great music, transport to and from the event every half-hour. New Year’s Eve Fireworks Extravaganza If you are still standing after the fabulous Christmas party, the Bayfield family have another party all ready to take off. Yes, it’s that New Year’s Eve spectacular which is the biggest and best on the Beaches, it’s the largest New Year’s Eve Fireworks Extravaganza north of the Harbour plus free over 18’s Beer Garden Party. It’s the event which has become an institution for those who want to see the old year out and welcome in the new. ‘ The Arms’ is now 131 years old and this elegant old lady will welcome her patrons to party from sunset and then under the stars to the sounds of soft romantic rhythms, for those who prefer to embrace when they dance, yet also some more alternative offerings for those who like to swivel and gyrate the hips. Along with the great atmosphere and schick music, there is one special part of the evening that everyone is anticipating with excitement - THE FIRWORKS which will explode over Pittwater at 9pm and midnight. The Sydney Harbour Bridge fireworks will be displayed on the Beer Garden’s huge outdoor screen. So come on, don’t sit at home feeling miserable when you know you want to party. Buses are available every half- hour so you can leave the beast at home and travel with ease and contentm ent and it’s a free party which starts at sunset (7pm) and finishes in the wee small hours (2am).
