But the beach girl competition is just a starter. The Christmas eve party will be another big event which always attracts a motza of beaches people who have been returning year after year to catch up with old friends, enjoy the wonderful ambiance which the day creates, as well as eat, drink, and be merry. Following the Christmas party is the New Years Eve party, which includes great music being played into the wee small hours of the morning and a spectacular fireworks display which erupts over the beautiful waters of Pittwater, while you dance with that special one and take it all in from the best beer garden in the world. If you think that it ends there well you are mistaken because next on the agenda will be the Australia day celebrations which as always will be spectacular with fireworks once again being a highlight as well as good old Aussie songs being played throughout the day and night by both local and guest bands. Details in next issue. As you can see the Bayfield family have been working overtime to arrange another unforgettable end of year and New year that has become their trademark for so long. With summer on our doorstep and Christmas and New Year just around the corner, the Bayfield Family are gearing up for another mega extravaganza of fun, food , frivolity and music for the beaches people at the hub of northern beaches entertainment, Newport Arms Hotel. To kick things off, in Novem ber the gorgeous girls will be back on the catwalk for Miss East Coast Girl Beach Model Competition. Now in its 16th year and one of the favourite events of summer, 40 of our loveliest beach girls will parade before a panel of judges in the hope of being selected as winner for 2011. There are over $15,000 worth of prizes up for grabs which include personal training courses, a holiday, a photography portfolio, a model website profile. The competition which runs over a five week period begins Saturday 5th Novem ber at 3pm, with the grand final on Saturday 3rd December. Call 0433 770 800 for entry forms SUMMER ABOUT TO EXPLODE AT NEWPORT ARMS FABULOUS MARTINI CLUB TO PLAY AT THE ARMS They have played at some of the hottest and most prestigious venues and events in the world, which include Los Angeles’ famous Playboy Mansion, Virgin Money Christmas Party, Cleo Bachelor of the Year, Randwick Races Easter Carnival, Danks Street Festival, Sydney Mardi Gras, the NY Day Party- Dimitri From Paris, Good vibrations Festival and the list goes on and on and on, and recently they have been touring nationally with Paul Mac and Silverchair. But now it’s the beaches turn to see this spectacular outfit in action at the Arms where they will spearhead this summer’s “Sunday Chill” which begins Sunday November 6 th . The band features the “Soul-Mistress” herself, Towera Smith, on vocals with other band members, Adam (Sloth) Burrell on trumpet, Will Farge on Sax, Pascal Pouzet decks /percussion and drumming maestro Mark Olson. By mashing up their modern electronic dance music with classic cover songs ranging from the 70s to the present day top forty, the Martini Club are able to draw in such a wide range audience demographic from teenagers who love listening to all the current songs on Nova radio, to the baby boomer generation who crave Martini Clubs mixes of their favourite 1970s soul music. Just imagine lazing back on a Sunday afternoon, a cool drink in hand, your best friends around you and listening to one of the hottest bands to hit the Arms yet.
