The Rock-itt : June 2011
Brooke Estelle Lingerie With the last notes of summer flickering through the autumn breeze, dreary days of grey skies and rainy days are on the approach. It’s about this time every year we begin searching for the rays of sparkling sunshine and patches of blue sky, we flock to the beaches and outdoor BBQ patches to soak in the warmth in one of our closest friends the always in style two piece bikini before we tuck them away safely until next season. There is no need to DISMAY!! Put down your drab sweaters and boring overcoats and start thinking about your underwear. Brooke Palm er is an up and coming designer from New Zealand who aims to keep the spark alive in the bedroom and the glamour back on the stages of Modeling Competitions and Bikini Contests across the globe with Brooke Estelle Lingerie. I recently got the chance to speak with Brooke and here’s what she has to say. First of all, tell me what 3 words describe your underwear? Feminine, Sexy, Exquisite I like the sound of that! So tell us why start a Lingerie company? And why market it towards bikini comps? I started making lingerie when I entered a competition and wanted something that would really make me stand out; I had so many ideas I just had to keep making sets. I didn't intend to sell them at first but got so much interest that it turned into a bit of a hit with girls entering competitions and women just wanting something a little different than what you could buy in department stores. I think there is a real market for it within competitions, everyone wants to win and everyone wants something different to the next girl and with Brooke Estelle you will always have something different So you intend to sell to normal public as well? YES!! Colour Trends.. Do you stick to seasonal colour trends when in the design process? I haven't really thought about it. I like to stick to specific colours when creating a range, but in saying that I want to use different colours than the typical underwear that is already available; that's all part of BEL’s appeal. We know that you like to break the norm with colors, tell me what kind of woman do you design for? I design lingerie for any woman who wants to be beautiful and can really appreciate fine design. It has definitely taken off with models in various competitions and pageants. This is a brand for anyone who wants to stand out from the crowd or in the bedroom for a special night with your loved one. I’m not the kind of person that likes to blend in, I am anything but generic and I think that reflects in my designs and it reflects the same sentiments in my customers.
