The Rock-itt : June 2011
If you happened to have missed out on the 4 band extravaganza that was the 5 th May at Lizotte’s I would be kicking myself right now if I was you, not only did you miss an array of mouth watering meals and desserts you also missed out on what I can only express to be the northern beaches most talented bands all in one jam packed evening. The four bands that made up the delightful ev ening were Stone Parade, Feeding Edgar, The Dividers and Is it her. Each band brought something new to the plate, as per our meals changing from entree to main, the bands did the same playing 20 minute sets each before rotating to the nex t band. It kept the music fresh to our ears and as each band came on for their second set we were able to appreciate not only the music but their stage presence as our meals were long gone and dessert was highly anticipated. The crew at Lizotte’s hav e done a magnificent job ensuring the v enue’s ambiance. My first two thoughts walking through the doors were, “I feel like I’m in Rom e,” and “It ’s a stylish bohemian paradise” . Red candles set the mood for what was to be an ev ening of indulgence not only for our stomachs but for our ears. Stone Parade has recently won honourable mention at the “International Song Writing Awards”, Feeding Edgar are currently on tour with “Rock the Schools”, The Dividers may look very familiar to many as they originally played in Bagster, an awesome band from a few years ago and Is it her are probably the most talented youngsters I have seen in a long time with sounds that would be on par with the likes of The Scrip. All in all, this was a night truly not to be missed. If you happen to hear of another gathering of these bands or are feeling peckish or want to try out somewhere new, I suggest you look up Lizotte’s in Dee Why and if you’re f eeling internet capable check out the bands on line.
