The Rock-itt : May 2011
Squinting as the glare bounced off the water, he could see surfers already out catching waves off Dee Why point as others stood on the rock shelves, their boards lying at their feet, waiting to make the first plunge of the day. A few health conscious diehards walked hurriedly by, performing their daily constitution as seagulls winged down to feast on a discarded hamburger bun left over from the night before. Snapper had heard that the sea would be ready to pump up a feast of rolling breakers that would have the disciples of the wave riding culture in raptures. Removing the sliding tripod from its cover he mounted the camera, adjusted his lens settings once more, then began doing what he loves doing best, documenting some magnificent surf and board riding skills which The Rock-itt magazine is always so very proud to publish. So here in all its splendor is the magnificent work of a modern day photographic virtuoso and Northern Beaches first class photographer, Ian Bird.................enjoy.
