The Rock-itt : April 2011
song “Falling Apart”. Act five, Charlie Graydon knew how to move the crowd with his ballad, “London Rain”. Act six, was a no show which meant 1st reserve who just happened to be in the house to give support to a friend, got the spot and Gab Poeocarrero with his twelve string instrumental, “Glass House” made a really good fist of this opportunity. Act seven, Jacob Keysel a young man with a bright future in music, really set a mood as he belted out his “Pretender” with vocal support from sister Ella. Act eight Nelson Rufatt took to the stage to resounding applause and from behind his keyboard played and sang his heart out with his, “Every Dream” and when he finished more loud and continuing applause. Act nine a beautiful ballad “Once Taken Twice Tempted” performed by talented singer and composer Jay Cullen. Tenth act, young Ella Keysel was a little nervous as she sang her “You and Me” after some said to me she had the most m eaningful lyric of all. Act eleven brought up the talented trio ShUnKy ZeN and their “Coffee Song”, then our twelfth and final act local band De’cuna and their song “I Can See” rocked as the final cam e to an end then stay on stage to entertain while the judges tallied the scores and counted votes. Well I could not pick who the winner would be. Everyone gets a prize but, there can be only one winner and so with no further adieu..... Our 2 nd runner up is De’cuna. (applause), next, 1 st runner up is Charlie Graydon. (more applause), and the winner of the “Face the Music” at “LA” and four hours of recording tim e at MVM is.... “DONNIE RAVEN” (huge applause). Donnie was stoked too and the Wolf Pack joined him on stage and swung into a set that got “LA” jumping. Congratulations to all contestants! The standard of musicianship produced is a credit to the depth of creative talent dwelling here on the Northern Beaches.
