The Rock-itt : March 2011
STONE PARADE READY TO TAKE OFF INTO STRATOSPHERE Northern Beach rockers, Stone Parade are about to embark on the opportunity of a lifetim e by taking their action packed live show to Canadian Music W eek. Canadian Music Fest, which is part of the Canadian Music W eek Industry conference, will feature over 800 artists across 55 venues in Toronto in March. Stone Parade will be performing two showcases, alongside international artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Sammy Hagar, and Good Charlotte as well as Australian acts Birds of Tokyo, Dan Sultan, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Little Red, Philadelphia Grand Jury and The Jezabels. The band is excited to be involved and be part of such a prestigious line-up. Prior to arriving in Toronto, the band will spend three days in New York, showcasing their music at the famed 'Arlene's Grocery' with their US managem ent in the hope of attracting label interest. Bass guitarist, Mark Fouche says, "Every musician deep down dreams of being able to take their music overseas. Just to explore new surroundings and gauge the different responses to your music that you've created from 10 000's of miles away. For the m ajority of us it's not something that gets to happen every day, so we are just so grateful to get this opportunity." Fellow band member and brother, Kevin, jokes, "Billy and I have been hard in training for our Canadian trip. We've got our Canadian Club and Dry pouring skills down pat and Billy's Pancakes with Maple syrup breakfasts are coming along well too". This tour comes hot on the heels of the band learning that their single 'Paranoia' from their current album 'Stratosphere', has been selected for the upcoming US MTV series 'Beavis and Butthead'. The animated series makes a much anticipated return in 2011 and will see their song and film clip featured in the show. The band is stoked especially since the clip was picked by the show's creator, Mike Judge. Catch the guys in action, when they perform at the recently opened Lizottes, in Dee Why on Thursday 5th May. Tickets $18.00.
