The Rock-itt : December 2010
Review by Dan Nascimento Friday, November 12 th saw YOYOs put together a swell lineup of Northern Beaches Pop/Punk/Rock bands that strutted their stuff in front of a healthy, appreciative crowd of young locals. Four Litre Friday kicked off proceedings with a killer blend of 90’s-ish Post-Punk with a splash of kick and flare that had the early birds bouncing. Unveiling a new bass player and a new sound, the boys carved through an energetic and entertaining half hour or so of brand new material, showcasing the vocal abilities of Lead, Lachlan Body. Slotting in a killer Pixies cover got things going, starting the night with a bang! Birds of a Feather followed with a similar general formula of mixing together various influences, producing a unique sound, with each individual part complementing each other nicely. With influences such as Brand New, AFI and Chiodos beaming through there thick and well structured sound, BOAF carved up the crowd with their energy and prowess, even opening things up to let those who came to mosh spread their wings Review by Dan Nascimento
