I don't know whether I'm writing a review or a eulogy for the Sea Eagles this month but one thing I do know, we are out of the NRL finals after a very gallant performance in one of the most frustrating seasons for our mighty Sea Eagles players and punters which I have experienced in many years. One would have to say that"lady luck" completely deserted us in 2010 and I'm so disappointed that I will not even give her capital letters for her name. Racked by injuries, suspensions and off field dramas, it could be rightly said that we were virtually behind the eight ball right from day one in 2010. With a black cloud of a personal nature hanging over his head, then a debilitating injury, we lost our "super star" Brett Stewart early on just as we were getting going. Brett, who was showing magnificent form, must have been under enormous pressure owing to the off field incident which at this point in time still hasn't been resolved. But Brett's dramas were only the thin edge of the wedge. As the season continued, a nightmare of events began to unravel for our players and club officials with injuries being the main problem. One after one our players were going on sick parade making the job of fielding a full strength side a nightmare for selectors and as we hit the finals it was almost farcical to believe we had any kind of chance of going all the way.
