The Rock-itt : September 2010
Silver Hills Farm at Oakdale held its spring equestrian event over the weekend with larger than ever entries with a talented field of riders from Sydney, national Australia and overseas. The management again proved just what a 'well oiled machine' it is by finishing the final phase of the feature 2-star competition by 4pm. This 2-star class went right down to the wire with Young Rider, Charlie Brister, leading right until the last minute when he had two unfortunate stops when riding the last fence directly into the setting sun eliminating him from the whole competition and handing the win to Sydney Gold medalist, Stuart Tinney on Watermark Grayson with John Toomey and two of his entries in second and third place. The Silver Hills competition has become very important on the national eventing calendar providing training for young horses and much needed practice for international competitions. The club was proud to have riders from other states competing and with three junior divisions provides a wonderful experience for aspiring eventers.
