Statistics for the day showed that at noon on Friday 13th the waves reaching the Sydney buoy had peaked in height. The significant wave heights were 5.5metres while peak heights were 11 metres with a peak period of almost 14 seconds. The Eden buoy peaked earlier in the day with significant wave heights to 5.7 metres while the Crowdy Head buoy received its maximum wave heights around 5pm on Friday 13 August with significant wave heights to 4.7 metres.
