The Rock-itt : June 2010
Had a Beautiful Body, Six Days on the Road", "The Green Green Grass of Home", Let Your Love Flow", "Prop me Up Beside the Jukebox", "Achy Breaky Heart" and "Hey Good Lookin'". It was good to enjoy songs we all know. This was a great bracket for the linedancers as all of the songs except "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body" has a linedance choreographed to them. Newcomer Tiana gave us a vibrant performance next with a set of popular songs such as "Proud Mary", "Silver Threads and Golden Needles", "The Rose", "It's so Easy to Fall in Love" and a rearing version of "Angel of the Morning" to finish. Despite a 'flu' dose, Tiana gave it her all and gave us plenty to enjoy. Thanks One of the most entertaining acts ever to grace the Belrose stage was the fabulous trio of The Brothers 3. Shardyn, Tayzin and Makirum (11, 12 & 13 years old) turned it on for us in an inspired performance. The boys sing and write their songs in three part harmony, using guitars, acoustic bass guitar, banjo, trumpet, keyboard and clarinet to great effect, all the time demonstrating their sparkling personalities. And..... if that ain't enough, a highlight of their performance was a marvellous tap dance routine which had the audience in raptures. Their songs were "The Road to Carcalgong", "Slow Waltz", "Where the Eagles Fly", "Raining on the Rock", "Wildwood Flower Marter Tap" and "Bushwhacking". The standing ovation and calls for more had the lads presenting the popular "Let Me Be There" with MC Geoff joining the fun with the bass vocal. What a pleasure to see such outstanding talent in such young performers who must have a marvellous future ahead, especially if their dedication to real entertainment continues. We can't wait for their return. WOW We could only follow such an enjoyable act with another one of equally high standard so that's exactly what we did. We have previously appreciated the extreme talents of The Harrisons, Kaylee and Glenn and upon their return, they showed what a high class act they are. Kaylee and Glenn both have excellent voices and their close harmonies are delightful, with Glenn's superb leads on his guitar rounding out this top contemporary country duo who worked so well with the band. Their songs were "I Can't be Bothered", "American Honey", "Tonight The Heartache's On Me", "Running Away with My Heart", "White Liar", "Heads Carolina, Tails California" and their own compositions "Letting Go of Holding On" and "Waiting on a Bus". Another terrific performance Geoff Williams concluded the show with a rousing version with the band of "Today I Started Loving You Again" before assembling all of the performers for the fantastic finale, with the highlight being another top tap performance from the Brothers and their whole family. Thanks to all the artists and musicians for another enjoyable day of country music. Tiana BELROSE COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB 146 FOREST WAY CONCERTS START AT 2PM FOR NEXT CONCERT PHONE 9451 5803 The Finale
