The Rock-itt : February 2010
Northern Beaches Country Music Club is set to 'ROAR' into 2010 with its first Concert of the year on Sun. 14th February launching the "Big Blue Ride" -- two Harley Riders Ray Blackett and Joe Campbell will be riding their Harleys 42,000 klms over thirty countries in 180 days to raise funds for Youth Mental Health -- a tough gig or what!! Come and wish these fearless guys well on Sun. 14th February for their grueling journey ahead. NBCMC is strong supporter of local clubs and organisations with its fund raising efforts and enquiries are always invited from other groups to contact them to see if NBCMC they can be of assistance in the same way. With record crowds at the Parkes Elvis Festival and the Tamworth Country Music Festival NBCMC is expecting to attract big crowds to its Concerts during the year where many of the entertainers from these festivals will be appearing. NBCMC Compere and Programme Organiser Bazza Williams has now returned from the Wauchope Country Music Festival and has put together a blockbuster series of Concerts for 2010 at the Balgowlah RSL Club - many new faces and some old favourites -- be early as these gigs start at 1.30 pm and it is difficult to get a seat after this time. Georgia White Winner of our "Search for a Star" Talent Quest has been in big demand at numerous other gigs along with many other of the Talent Quest contestants which reflects the very high standard of the promotion. NBCMC has received many requests to hold the Talent Quest again this year -- watch the "Rock-itt" a decision will be announced here. Steve Passfield Golden Guitar Winner in 2008 will blast off 2010 for the NBCMC -- Steve is a top entertainer and it will be his first time at Balgowlah RSL Club. The band on Sun. Feb. 14th is the award winning "Handpicked". This group will live up to the NBCMC motto "Country with a Kick" in a big way. They travel regularly across this big land of ours and overseas and it is great to get them at Balgowlah. One of the reasons NBCMC won the Australian Country Music Club of the Year Award in 2009 was because of its support of emerging Country Music artists and at the February 14th Concert a local boy from Balgowlah Mitchell Murdoch will be appearing. Mitchell wowed everyone at the Wauchope Festival and was discovered early last year by Bazza Williams when he invited him to do a couple of numbers at one of the previous Concerts. Bazza is quick to spot talent. Rosalie Mackay and the In Line Boots team will return after a well earned rest and yes, due to many requests Rosalie and her team will do an exhibition -- but later in the year. SO IT'S ALL HAPPENING -- NBCMC the No. 1 COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB IS BACK -- BALGOWLAH RSL CLUB SUNDAY 14th FEBRUARY -- 1.30pm -- 5.30 pm -- SPREAD THE WORD!!. IT'S A FREE ADMISSION CONCERT SO COME ALONG AND ENJOY THE SHOW. Would you like to be part of a very welcoming and responsive volunteer team and assist in the running these Concerts -- Go on, give us a ring, we would love to hear from you -- Phone: 0408 277 548.
