The 99th Big Day Out was a sell out show for the first of two Sydney shows. The huge crowd saw a massive artist line up enduring heatwave conditions around 40 degrees plus, so much so the drummer from Lily Allen required an oxygen tank beside his drum kit! To survive these conditions I secured a safe position beside the mixing desks and Channel V camera crew in the 'mosh area' for an in-your-face upfront view of the two main stages. In this location I wasn't going to melt and could shoot both close up and great ful stage images, capturing of all the bands and the spectacular stage colours and lighting effects.
