The Rock-itt : February 2010
What pre stage rituals do you employ to get yourself going or warm up your voice? I always warm up before I sing. I do a series of vocal exercises that sound a little like vowel sounds and I always run through the show to remind myself of arrangement changes or new songs. Is it true that you nearly let your love of music slip away? Yes, it's easy to do, we all have our stories. I did let my music go to start a family. Over time however, it became a deep regret and I just had to go back and within 2 weeks of deciding to sing again, I won a competition to replace Geri Halliwell at Rumba singing alongside international giants like Shaggy, Nelly Furtado, Vanessa Amorosi and Craig David in front of 50,000 fans. How was the recording process for the album? It was so much fun. I had done quite a few live shows with about half of the tracks and I felt confident about those and how they would go down, the rest were written for the album, work in progresses that had never been aired. I loved the creativity of both the tried and untried. "Isabelle" which has won so many awards was recorded in the latter way, so was "Still the One" another award winner. I also loved my producer Michael Carpenter who I will use again for my next project in March when I plan to record a new single. Where can people buy the album? The album is being sold through iTunes and Amazon MP3. I am currently looking at distribution which would make it available in record stores in the near future.
