A SENSATIONAL YEAR OFCOUNTRY MUSIC ON THE PENINSULAR IN 2009 Live Bands!: Live Artists!: And yes, you’ve got it, a LIVE AUDIENCE! Northern Beaches Country Music Club (NBCMC) had a great year of Country Music Concerts and is now in recess until Sunday 14th February 2010 (MAKE A NOTE IN YOUR DIARIES PLEASE) Well over 2000 people have walked through the doors of these popular Tamworth ‘feel’ concerts at Balgowlah RSL Memorial Club in Seaforth in 2009 and the NBCMC finished the year in a blaze of glory by winning the “Australian Country Music Club of the Year 2009” Award in the 19 th Annual Tamworth on Parade Spectacular. ALSO, a year of achievement for its Compere and Programme Organiser Barry “Bazza” Williams who was named a Founding Member of the International Country Music Association – not a bad record for a local Club. NBCMC featured some of the Country’s leading entertainers during the year ranging from local talent to performers from Australia wide and including the USA and New Zealand travelling to appear there. NBCMC promoted their first Talent Quest “Search for a Star” which was supported by Unit 4 Studios at Brookvale. Great bands such as The Coads, Bayou Boogie Boys, Macarthur C M C, local group the Wantin and Country Music Great Mr Charlie Boyter also performed at the Concerts which featured the sensational In Line boots Line Dancing Team, the Sing Australia Choir, comedians like the popular Wally the Worker along with many other acts such the champion acapella group Northern Beaches Chorus.
