The Rock-itt : December 2009
to join in on the chanting backup vocals! At the end of the show Gazza remembers lying shirtless and in a lather of sweat on the floor back stage completely drained and blown away by what can only be described as a "lifetime experience" for him and the band. Every bit of merchandise they brought with them was sold, they even sold promotional demo tapes to keep punters happy and were surprised by the reaction from punters in the street recognising them and congratulating the band on an amazing performance. Back from the UK, Rust supports UK Subs on their Australian tour at the Excelsior Hotel, Sydney in October, 2009 where Gazza remembers the walls came down in that gig where the room was jammed packed and where he got smacked in the head with a mike stand, foldbacks got pulled off the stage, crowd surfing and the odd foot in the face was all part of a huge night for the band! Q. So....What does the future hold for the band? A. RUST in March this year recorded a new album titled Lean Mean Street Machine at Zen Studios with Jeff Lee. This album was recorded mostly live and done in lightning pace and after having a listen to aprecopyCD,Ican say this is a cracking, fat sounding in-your- face recording, truly capturing the raw street punk energy and sound that you would expect at a RUST show leaving me chanting for more! The album opens with Oi Oi Aussie, and includes Bang Bang, Skinhead from the Burbs, Black Rats, Boys will be Boys and a host of new songs. Every track on this Album is a winner "Oi"! 2010 will see the band launching and promoting this album, with a 7 show tour of NZ, gigs in QLD, Melbourne and hopefully Perth as well as hitting the Sydney circuit hard! The album is being released in Australia by PUG Music (www.pugmusic.com) and in UK/Europe by S.T.P records. RUST has also been invited to play at the Rebellion Festival in Italy and the UK again and aim to tour the UK in either in 2010 or 2011. You can catch the band at the Lansdowne Hotel, Sydney on Friday 11th December, 2009 and keep an eye out for them as this band has a big future at www.myspace.com/rustpunk
