The Rock-itt : October 2009
EVELYN DUPRAI ENTERTAINS SUPER STAR BEYONCE It was a dream come true for Beaches' rising star, Evelyn Duprai last month when international super star, Beyoncé came in to the Cruise Bar at the Rocks where Evelyn was entertaining and sat down with her entourage only a couple of metres away. Evelyn almost had to rub her eyes in disbelief as Beyoncé and her group began bopping along and calling out encouragement as Evelyn rocked through her repertoire of music and songs. But it was no brief encounter because then Beyoncé and her entourage ordered lunch and stayed on for at least an hour and a half to the delight of Evelyn and her band the Eon-Beats Trio. When The Rock-itt asked Evelyn how she felt about entertaining such a high profile international star like Beyoncé, Evelyn replied, "I was simply overwhelmed that she stayed for so long and both the band and I were really honoured at having our music appreciated by Beyoncé." Now Beyoncé knows something that The Rock-itt has known for quite a while. Our girl Evelyn is headed for stardom.......Onya Evelyn! Keith Floyd passed away last month after a history of heart trouble. Keith would cook sensational dishes on the side of a mountain, by the sea, on the deck of a boat in the desert or anywhere he could set up his primus kitchen, and did it with absolute zest and gusto. He also loved adding the old vino to his dishes and imbibing a touch as he conducted his show. It is sad to think there won't be another new Floyd recipe coming our way again, but I'm sure Keith will be cooking up a storm where he is now. Sleep peacefully old chap. R.I.P. GOODBYE PATRICK Hollywood actor, Patrick Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer last month after putting up a courageous battle. Patrick made some great films in his time here, with Point Break, Dirty Dancing, and the all time favourite female tear jerker, Ghost among his best. He was diagnosed with the dreaded disease and rather than sit and die he took it full on, even working almost until the end. I'm sure that we will all miss Patrick and will remember him for his great films which are now his remaining legacy. Now you will be dancing with angels, Patrick, but remember to keep it clean, no Dirty Dancing. R.I.P.
